Kitchen Table Escapes

Kit licence (DRAFT)

This licence applies to every Kitchen Table Escapes kit. Kitchen Table Escapes is a brand of BookPublisherTools (the Netherlands), which owns the copyright in the kits.

In short

Print it and play it as often as you like at home, at your own parties and in your own classroom. Do not share or sell the files.

You may

  1. Home use. Print as many copies as you need and play the kit in your own household, as often as you like.
  2. Party use. Use it at parties and gatherings that you host, at home or at a venue, for example a birthday party, a sleepover or a family event, where guests do not pay to play.
  3. Classroom use. A teacher, tutor or homeschool parent may use one copy with one class or group that they teach, and print copies for the students in that group. You may show the pages on a classroom screen.
  4. Hand out printouts. Give printed pages to the players during the game. Players may keep their certificates and printed pages.
  5. Small changes. Write names on pages, cut, colour and adapt the printouts for your own game.

You may not

  1. Share, send, upload or post the PDF files, or any page of them, to other people, websites, shared drives, school networks open beyond your class, social media groups or file-sharing services.
  2. Sell, resell, rent or give away the files or printed copies, alone or as part of another product (for example party boxes, bundles or rentals).
  3. Use the kit for events where players pay to take part (for example paid workshops, ticketed events or venues), or for several classrooms or a whole school, without a separate licence. [Hans decides whether to offer one; email hello@kitchentableescapes.com.]
  4. Remove the copyright or licence notices.
  5. Claim the kit as your own work, or use its story, characters, puzzles or artwork in your own products.
  6. Use the files to train or fine-tune AI models, or to build datasets.

Each additional teacher or family

Each household and each teacher needs their own purchase.

Ownership

BookPublisherTools keeps all copyright and other rights in the kits. You get a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence for the uses listed above.

If the licence ends

The licence ends if you break it, or if the purchase is refunded. Then please stop using the files and delete them.
